Story of My Life: The Food and I

Fact of the day: I love food.

Throughout my life my relationship with food was a love-hate one!
First I used to hate food when I was a kid and I was practically a walking stick back then; I removed my tonsils at age 8,  and suddenly my new-found love of food begins to prosper.
At the beginning with every bite I took, it was a new surprise for me, exploring new tastes that were completely foreign to me.   The hate part was that I hated the kitchen, cooking and preparing food.
Things evolved further as my palate was developing, I started to gain weight at an alarming rate; at this point I got introduced to the hate of my life: Weight Watching!  Devouring delights was barely delightful anymore with the bitter regret that follows an empty plate.
Since the age of 16 I have been battling with my weight, and the balance of my taste buds urges, and my body's need to stay fit and healthy.  At first it was a gruesome battle, with food that is tasteless and was only bearable because at the back of my mind I know it is only temporary diet food.  As time went by, and as I kept losing and gaining my weight back, I made peace with healthy food and decided to incorporate it into my permanent diet.  Don't get me wrong, I am still indulging myself with tasty food, except I am pulling off a healthy twist on it (c:

This is where my blog comes in.  The idea behind this virtual diary is to share my own experimentation with healthy food and make it more acceptable to the seasoned palate.  I hope in my very humble way, I would help other people maintain a healthy diet and enjoying their meals at the same time.
